A transitional Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held over three days, 24–26 April 2023, to accommodate the international time zones of 37 member countries in attendance. The AGM demonstrated member-country support for the Board’s proposal for a “One Country – One Vote” system, ensuring equal representation for all members regardless of a country’s size.
Financial activity was reported by Treasurer Dwight Crawford, CPA, who noted no liabilities or loans. The International Pickleball Federation (IPF) was also submitted to the IRS to become a federally recognised 501(c)(3) non-profit. Member countries ratified the IPF’s Bylaws, Operations Manual and corporate policies, and elected the IPF’s new President, Arvind Ramesh Prabhoo (India), and 3rd Vice-President, Collins Munene (Kenya). Outgoing President Sunil Valvalakar administered the Oath of Office to the new Board of Directors.
The IPF’s role is to define the rules and provide oversight for the game of pickleball globally — certifying referees and tournament officials, selecting rating systems, specifying and certifying equipment standards, and providing grants and training to member nations. The federation continues to expand, now supported by nearly 80 member countries across five continents.
