Cookie Notice
Last updated: 25 July 2026
This notice explains the cookies and browser storage used on worldpickleball.org. We keep this to a minimum: we do not use advertising, we do not sell data, and the one analytics tool we use only runs with your consent.
Essential & functional
These are needed for the site and portal to work, or to remember your preferences. They do not require consent.
- wpf-lang (browser storage) — remembers your chosen display language. Stays until you clear your browser storage.
- googtrans (cookie) — records the language you selected so the page is shown translated on the next load. It is a session cookie and is cleared when you close your browser.
- Member portal sign-in (browser storage) — keeps you signed in to the World ID member portal after you log in. Stays until you sign out or clear your browser storage.
Non-essential (consent-based)
- Google Translate — if you choose a language other than English, we load Google’s translation service, which may set its own third-party cookies. This only happens when you actively select a non-English language. If you do not use the translator, these cookies are never set.
- Google Analytics — helps us understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, general location, device type) so we can improve it. This only loads if you accept non-essential cookies in the banner; declining means no analytics cookies are ever set.
Maps
Pages with a map load tiles from OpenStreetMap. This does not set tracking cookies, though your IP address is processed by the tile provider to deliver the map images.
Managing cookies
You can accept or decline non-essential cookies using the banner shown on your first visit, and you can change your choice or clear cookies at any time through your browser settings. Blocking essential/functional storage may stop parts of the site (such as staying signed in or your language choice) from working.
