Media & Image Consent

At tournaments, training camps, and other WPF events, we and our partners may take photographs and video of participants, officials, and spectators for use on our website, social media, and promotional materials, and by media covering the event.

Images of young players

Photography at an event is different from the photograph a member chooses to add to their WPF membership. The consent a parent or guardian gives when a young person’s account is created covers the photograph they supply — for the membership credential, competition administration, and WPF publications. It does not cover photography at a venue, and we do not treat it as though it did.

Event photography is handled the way it is across the sport: we give notice at the venue that photography is taking place, and anyone can ask not to be photographed. We take particular care with young players. A parent or guardian can tell event staff on the day, or contact us at any time, and we will not photograph their child and will remove existing images of them from our own channels.

Where a young player is the clear and identifiable subject of an image — rather than appearing incidentally in a wider shot of play or a crowd — we ask their parent or guardian before using it in promotional material. We never publish a young player’s image alongside their contact details, and we do not identify the school, club address, or home town of a player under 18 in a caption.

Opting out

Anyone — adult or minor — can ask not to be photographed at an event by speaking to event staff on the day, and can ask us to remove a specific image from our own channels afterwards. We cannot, however, control how independent media use their own coverage of an event.
