The International Pickleball Federation (IPF) and the World Pickleball Federation (WPF), the leading global federations dedicated to the advancement of Pickleball, express profound disappointment with the recent announcement of a new, third international federation , GPF.
At a time when unity is paramount, following on the unanimous request and endorsement of the 5 Continental Federations (Africa, Asia, Americas, Europe and Oceania) both IPF and WPF have been in positive focused discussions to merge the IPF and WPF to create a singular IOC compliant organisation.
We are confident that the majority of our member countries will see the creation of this new body as a very divisive step which again fragments the global Pickleball community at a time when the IPF and WPF are on the verge of a historic merger.
We will provide further updates on our ongoing efforts and initiatives to unify the sport and to push forward with our IOC recognition aspirations.
