
The Asia Federation of Pickleball (AFP) hosted the inaugural Asia Pickleball University Championship 2025 (APUC 2025) in Da Nang, Vietnam, from 17–20 July 2025, marking a historic milestone for collegiate and alumni pickleball across Asia. Over four days, participants from eight countries — Japan, Indonesia, Korea, Chinese Taipei, Malaysia, Brunei, India, and Vietnam — competed together, blending youth, experience, and international camaraderie.
The tournament opened with a ceremony emphasising unity, sportsmanship, and cultural celebration, with teams made up of university students, alumni, and staff members.
University Team Challenge results:
- Gold — India (Team Champions)
- Silver — Chinese Taipei (Runners-Up)
Both champion teams earned Golden Tickets to compete at the Collegiate World Championships in Dallas, USA (31 October–2 November 2025), giving student-athletes the opportunity for pro-level experience and global exposure.
Beyond competition, the event fostered cross-border friendships and collaboration, with participants expressing enthusiasm about maintaining connections and organising joint training sessions. AFP also conducted a Referee & Game Marshall Workshop during the championship, welcoming 52 participants pursuing AFP Referee certification.
