The Asia Pickleball Junior Open 2025 celebrated youth pickleball across Asia with unprecedented growth, held in Quang Nam Province, Vietnam, from 13–15 July 2025. The tournament welcomed 246 junior athletes — a significant increase from 80 participants in 2024.
Over three days, players competed across 16 categories, completing 874 total matches. Participants represented 10 countries: China, Hong Kong, Japan, India, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Korea, Chinese Taipei, and host nation Vietnam.
Vietnam and Japan emerged as the dominant forces, securing multiple medals and demonstrating exceptional technique and discipline. The tournament succeeded through strong family and community support, with parents providing encouragement and national associations appointing coaches to mentor young athletes. PPA stars from the PPA Asia Malaysia Open made special appearances, adding star power to the event.
Looking ahead to 2026, the Asia Federation of Pickleball announced planned expansions, including identifying and empowering junior coaches across Asia, launching AFP-endorsed junior camps and training series, and introducing the AFP Junior Ranking System to track competitive performance.
